My Sister's Brand New XPS M1530

My sister has been using hand-me-down computers all her life.. she has never own a brand new unit.. well, she's the youngest in the family, what does she expect? :P She has been using my old Dell for the past 3 years now.. and Dell can't extend warranty beyond 5 years.. the laptop is struggling and my sister has resuscitate it a number of times.. It's time to put it to sleep for good..

Finally, my parents bought a brand new Dell XPS M1530 for my sister.. At RM4850, my sister chose Tuxedo Black unit (another option is bright pink)..

It starts from RM2999 and I've customised some upgrades.. With Intel Core Duo Processor T8300 (2.4GHz, 3Mb cache, 800 MHz FSB) (additional RM576), integrated 2.0 mega pixel web cam, 3-year premier service + 3 year complete cover (additional RM694), 15.4 widescreen WXGA (1440 x 900), 4Gb SDRAM (additional RM252), 320Gb SATA (7200RPM) performance hard drive (additional of RM144 - if I chose standard SATA HDD, it is only an additional of RM90), internal 8X DVD-RW, 256Mb NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphic card, integrated sound blaster Audigy advanced (additional of RM35), standard bluetooth, Wi-Fi, SD card reader, finger print reader.. It's more than enough for my little sister.. This totalled up to RM4700 according to Dell Website..

In fact, there are more.. what's she going to do with external USB modem, travel remote control, and Dell online backup 2Gb?

With a Belkin Messenger Bag (Midnight blue/ Electric blue) for RM198 (bought from Dell), it's just in time to replace her broken backpack.. which she still drag to campus.. I'm changing it to backpack instead.. So, all together it is RM4700 + RM198 = RM4898 - RM48 (further discount from Dell salesperson) = RM4850!

I'm sending the laptop over to my sister (in Australia) using FedEx soon, after I install some necessary software.. I'm sure she'll enjoy her very first brand new laptop :P (Yes, it's very much cheaper than buying directly from Dell Australia)

There's XPS M1730 for mobile gaming supremacy, starting price from RM7,599 for ultimate gaming performance 17" Hi-Def W-Screen, world's first laptop to offer optional AGEIA PhysX processing unit (what's this?) and Dual NVIDIA SLI graphics capability.. Bet it's a better unit for gaming! :P

Yup, it was advertised as RM2999 on the Website, then I upgraded processor to T7700, 2.4GHz, 4Mb cache, 800 MHz for RM504, 3 year XPS premier service with 3 yr complete cover for RM694, double up the RAM for RM252, upgrade to performance HDD (not the standard one) for RM144, integrated sound blaster Audigy ADVANCED for RM35, bag alone cost RM198.. and you have all of these within RM2999? If yours is still cheaper and the only difference is HDD space, let me know, I'll scold my Dell contact person.. LOL!

Oops, processor I ordered was T8300, not T7700.. another additional RM72 compared to T7700 which was additional of RM504.
